Grow - Fully Stitched Modern Cross Stitch Kit!
"You gotta Grow thru what you Go thru"
First designed and stitched for the 2021 XStitch Calendar, 'Reflex - 13 Contemporary Cross Stitch Designs In Response To An Ever Changing World' this design is now a kit! For this calendar, designers were asked to design a chart showing their response/reflex to the worldwide changes of 2020 (and beyond).... this was my response.
"I love how people responded to the challenges of 2020 by painting a rainbow on the coronavirus - bringing colour and joy to a dark time and learning how to survive and thrive in our 'new normal'"
The stitched design measures 112 stitches across and is 139 stitches high. When stitched on 28ct evenweave/ 14ct aida the design measures approximately 20 cm x 25cm.
You have a choice of 28ct evenweave or 14ct aida (perfect for beginners)
Each Fully Stitched cross stitch kit contains:
1x Full colour printed counted cross stitch chart with blocks and symbols;
1x Piece of fabric, with pre-overlocked edges measuring approx. 33cm x 45cm;
2x Size 24 cross stitch needles (because one always gets lost down the back of the sofa!)
1x Tips and Tricks card to help you get started
Enough DMC stranded embroidery floss to complete the design
All in a black Stitchsperation gift box.
*The only other piece you need to complete the kit is an embroidery frame of your choice to keep the fabric taught while you stitch and perhaps a frame to hang it in pride of place when it's finished. I recommend an 8" frame for regular kits - how about an upgrade?!
Please note, embroidery hoops, picture frames and any other props in photos are NOT included.
Upgrade your kit to a Deluxe kit, perfect for Gifting. A deluxe kit includes:
• A full regular kit;
• An 8" Snap Frame (worth £15);
• A Stitchsperation needleminder (worth £5);
• Super sharp snips (worth £5)
• A black luxury gift box.
What’s the difference between 14ct Aida & 28ct Evenweave?
Both these fabrics produce the same size design.
Aida is what I call, 'traditional' cross stitch fabric. If you did cross stitch as a kid, you probably did it on this. The holes are very obvious and you can clearly see where the stitches go. Aida is quite stiff and and doesn't always require a frame or hoop to stitch on. Sticthsperation kits come with 14ct aida which means your design will have 14 stitches per inch.
Aida is great for beginners.
Evenweave may seem a little tricker as there are lots of holes, but produces a very clean background which can make the finished kit look like a print from a distance. The term evenweave applies to any fabric that is "evenly woven", so it has the same number of threads per inch in both the vertical and horizontal directions, and all the threads have the same thickness. Evenweave has more drape than aida so it's great if you want to make your finished piece into a cushion or bag.
Stitchsperation kits come with 28ct evenweve, this means there are 28 stitches per inch if you stitch through every hole but the trick with evenweave is to stitch through every other hole, therefore getting 14 stitches per inch - the same as the aida!
I had seen this previously and bought a calendar containing it. Just hadn't got round to ordering threads as I was completing Live What You Love. Then Charlie announced the kit was for sale. I must have ordered within minutes of receiving the email!. Top quality fabric and threads, and easy to follow chart, bright and wonderful design. I make sure I stitch some every day
