Whip Stitch

Secure the thread at the back of the canvas under a few stitches and then bring the needle up through one of the outside holes. Wrap the thread around the plastic and then up through the same hole. I like to go through each hole twice and the corners 4-5 times to give good coverage. 

Only do this on the edges with the black square on the pattern.
